Global warming is a problem that is happening as we speak.
So are starving people in poverty. These two are very plausible issues.
However, can the two be compared to each other? Yes, apparently they can.
According to a friend on Facebook (and I would unfriend him, but I am just WAY
to amused at some of his posts to give that up… He is also a believer in Trump
making America great again, I thought I’d put that out there). He recently
posted to Facebook about how California is spending $40,000 per mile on painting
their streets white to prevent “climate change.” And yes, he put quotes around
it, therefore he is no such believer in climate change and global warming. He
then continues to post about how there are people on the streets starving. Yes,
there are MANY, MANY people below the poverty line and many more will continue
to struggle. It’s the sad truth, but with everything that’s happening in our
world, its also just one of many sad truths. However, I stopped paying
attention to everything that is happening with politics right now, except for
the fact that Trump has acquainted too many people to positions they are
incapable for. However, I know Trump is a money-hungry Republican (like other
white, republican men… like my “friend” here) I don’t understand why they are
so worried about money when they have enough of it to go around.
And I could be totally wrong, about my “friend.” Maybe he
donates his money to good causes. Or maybe I’m right about him and he supports
taking food stamps away from people because he doesn’t want his tax money to
pay for people taking advantage of the system because that is what people on
food stamps are doing. At least the people using food stamps get some food, it
may not be good food, but its food.
So is there a correlation between spending money on
preventing the increase of global warming and feeding the starving Americans?
Is there a correlation between major tax breaks for the rich and feeding the
starving Americans? Is there a correlation between military spending and the
starving Americans, that includes struggling veterans?
My “friend” needs to rethink who he voted for, where he
stands in society, and maybe he should think about what he can do to help,
instead of hating on California, a state that he has nothing to do with and has
no say in how they spend their money. He also doesn’t realize the effects of
the CoolSeal to the people living in Los Angeles. They won’t have to live in dangerous
heat, because the asphalt roads won’t be absorbing the heat and making the
pavement dangerously hot anymore. Also, the already expensive cost of living in
LA can be a little less now by reducing their utility bill because they wouldn’t
have to blast the AC. Ultimately, California’s goal is to prevent global
warming, which most people still don’t believe in. He didn’t do his research, he just decided
that California is a radical state filled with people who don’t care about
other people… when in reality, he is following politicians with no morals.
(Also, if I said anything that is stupid or doesn’t make
sense, which I probably did, I apologize in advanced. I’m mostly going off my
memory of what I’ve heard on the news for the politics, so it might be skewed.
I have a bad memory.)

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! This was an interesting read. It intrigues me how people believe that Aliens exist and doesn't believe in climate change. Kinda wanna question the entirety of the government and the society.
DeleteI like how you raised the question whether there was a correlation between spending money on preventing the increase of global warming and feeding the starving people. I think that we can already relate this kind of situation with military spending, where the government waste all its money on the military but cant raise wages to at least living wages especially for the low SES.
Thanks for sharing Selena! I think it is interesting he uses Facebook his platform to share his opinion. Since the past presidential election, social media has gained popularity as a platform to share or promote political agendas. I don't know if there is a need to do this.
DeleteWhen 'CoolSeal' becomes 'paint the roads white' something magic and scary happens.
