Ever since I got my first smartphone, which was the very
first iPhone that got released, I thought it was a life changing moment, and I
was right. It did dramatically change my life. I relied on my phone more than
ever. Even now, with all new apps that are out that make people’s lives easier and
more convenient. The apps that I am specifically talking about are Amazon,
eBay, Postmates, Tapingo, and so forth. With these apps, you don’t even have to
leave your house at all to go shopping or do your groceries.
I used amazon a lot to most of my shopping, or basically
just online shop with websites. In this generation this is very common; where
people don’t even go to the mall to shop for clothing and other stuff. With one
click of a button, you can order anything and get it shipped to your house. In
addition, another app that I use in my everyday life is Tapingo. Tapingo
basically lets you order food, drinks, and such without waiting in line. If you
guys didn’t know, the line for Starbucks in Coffman takes ages. This is where I
used Tapingo so I can just pick up my coffee without waiting in line. Similarly,
with Panda Express in the Coffman marketplace.
Smartphones were revolutionary and is still is. However,
ever since smartwatches came out, especially the Apple smartwatches, you do not
even have to carry your phone anymore. I can’t leave my house without my Apple watch;
it has basically become part of my everyday life. I still use my phone, but the
convenience of having a watch lets you access notification and order things
from it.
My point is that technology is advancing faster than we
know, and becoming a big part of our lives and we rely on it too much. We have
come to the point that we do minimal human interactions while engaging with
them more in social media, but that's another topic. This kind of scares me a
little that we are too reliant on technology, that if it suddenly stops, what
could happen to us?
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI like that you talked about all the different apps that are changing the way we live, like Amazon and Tapingo. It is so convenient to order something off of your phone and just have it delivered to you. Before I had Amazon Prime, I went to the store way more often to pick up things. Now I have things delivered to my house. It is scary to think that you wouldn't even need to leave the house at all anymore.
